The White Flapper Dress

Hello my lovely readers! This past Saturday my father and I hit up Sunset to visit Book Soup (a book store). It was my first time visiting it and I loved my experience! As an avid reader I can always get lost for hours amongst the shelves. The weather had finally cooled down enough in Los Angeles for me to wear my hair down again, and put something on other than standard shorts. Hope you enjoy this post!

Here is a full shot of my outfit. The dress is old, from American Eagle, but you can find similar ones here and here. The shoes are my newest loves. I sadly couldn’t find them anywhere, but I got mine at DSW if you want to check out your local store. They were a recent purchase, so I think they’ll still be in stores! 🙂 My bag is my beloved Longchamp Le Pliage.

This was the yummiest ice coffee! It was something “hip”, cold pressed from Kenya. 🙂

Book Soup has a wonderful newsstand, located right outside the store. The magazine selection was great, offering European issues of most magazines and having every fashion magazine known to woman (even some I had never heard of before!). For lunch, I had a salmon salad, it was yummy and refreshing.

Aren’t these glasses the coolest? You can find them here, I ordered them off of ASOS. In the bright California sun, the lenses always end up being mirrored blue.

Any special plans over Memorial Day weekend? I spy the beach in my very near future! 🙂

Hello my lovely readers! Get ready for the most stereotypical high school post of all time. While this post is going to be a bit more personal, I wanted to share this exciting day with you guys! This past Saturday I had my high school senior prom. It was an incredible night! I loved seeing all of my friends dressed up and looking so spiffy. We gathered around 5:00 to take pictures together, and then piled into our party bus and drove to the actual event. The venue was awesome (but I won’t be posting it on here because I don’t want to give my school away). The night ended up being filled with surprisingly decent food and lots of dancing. I hope you guys enjoy this post, and keep on scrolling for dress/hair/makeup details!

First of all, my dress (aka my love). I got super lucky last November when I spotted this baby at a designer sale (one dress, and in my size!). My friend Maddy (who you’ll see pictured below) insisted that I try it on despite prom being months away, and it fit like a dream. Thus, this $500 gown became mine for $50 (!!). The designer is Tadashi Shoji, and they sell her pieces at Nordstrom. You can also find an impressive lineup of gorgeous evening gowns on her website. On my feet, I wore strappy silver heels by Kelly & Katie, found at DSW.

I had my hair done at Dry Bar, and my makeup done at Sephora. I was beyond please with the service I got at both. The lady that did my hair at Dry Bar was so nice; she asked me exactly what I wanted (I got the Mai Tai!) and took my hair type into consideration. I have very limp hair that loses volume/curls easily, but the way she curled it kept my hair looking great until 3 AM the next morning. As with my makeup experience at Sephora, I was not only beyond pleased but also had so much fun while getting my makeup done! A girl named Danny did my makeup, and was so sweet. I came in with pictures of Blake Lively’s natural look for inspiration, and she just took it from there. Then a second girl came over and applied 20 individual lashes to each eye. The work she did was flawless! If you have any product questions, leave them below and I’ll be happy to answer. 🙂

And meet my best friends! I love them to death and I think we all looked amazing. 🙂

Shamelessly caught selfie-ing

And that concludes this post! Despite it being different from what usually goes up here, I really do hope you all enjoyed it! 🙂

Up To The Getty

photo 2 (16)

Hello my lovely readers! About two weeks back my family and I took a short trip up to the Getty to see the newly restored Jackson Pollock mural. For those wondering, it’s truly beautiful and worth seeing in person! I always enjoy going up to the museum, because not only is it free, but also because the art, view, and general atmosphere is always incredible. I also made sure to see the Queen Victoria photography exhibit, which I recommend to anybody who has the chance to see it. I hope you enjoy this post! We went around sunset which led to some stunning views.

P.S. Just want to give a quick heads up that posting next week (through May 10th) might be a bit irregular due to the AP exams (AP Environmental Sciences and AP Literature for those wondering) and PROM (!!!) on Saturday! Post will be up, but maybe more than three days apart. That being said, I know what will be going up and can’t wait for you guys to see that content, and I can’t wait to show my prom pictures! Anyways, that’s enough rambling, hope you all are having a great Thursday! 🙂

Denim Blue

photo 1 (16)

Hello my lovely readers! Today I bring you a comfortable yet very put together look, I’ve worn it twice in the past week. It works in a variety of situations; for example I wore it on a trip to the LACMA last Friday and to school this past week. The weather here in Los Angeles has been quite nice this week. While I’m upset that we didn’t get any rain this winter, it’s nice to feel some warmth, and to begin the attempt to look even the slightest bit tan before leaving for Europe this summer 😀

I’ve been loving my Converse lately, there’s something so down to earth about them. As for skirts, I’m sure you can tell I’m obsessed. I think they’re the perfect transition into summer, right before the shorts season fully starts. To make skirts more comfortable for school, I always layer some spandex underneath. Then there’s no accidental flashing!

Now moving on to the focus of this outfit: my denim jacket (also known as my newest love). For weeks I had been lusting after one similar to this at Topshop (linked below). However, after discussing the topic with my mom, she brightly replied, “I have one in my closet that you can have!”. Thus, I scored this killer jacket for no money 🙂 For me, it ties together the outfit. Not only does it add something more to the simple skirt and shirt combo, but it also succeeds in keeping me warm in my arctic classrooms. Also it gives off a cool vibe in my opinion, and balances out the girly vibe of that skirt.

For school I like to keep my makeup simple and natural. I added some lip color here (Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop) but other than that my face stays pretty basic (I value my sleep in the morning, and save more heavy makeup for the weekends).

And here’s one last outtake 🙂 As my brother and I were out shooting on the street, our dog Lucy wandered over and of course I had to bend down to give her a cuddle! 🙂 It actually has to be one of my favorite pictures of the day.

The Easter Romper

photo 5 (9)

Hello my lovely readers! I hope you all had a lovely Sunday yesterday, regardless of celebrating Easter of not! Personally, I had a great day, hunting for eggs in the morning (you’re never too old!), brunching at noon, and finishing up my AP Literature term paper in the evening (might not sound like fun, but I’m extremely satisfied with my final product!). I chose to spend my day dressed in this romper, one I picked up a while back in Palm Springs. Rompers are my absolute favorite!

What I really love about it is the fun back. For once I’m going to say this, but thank goodness I don’t tan! Could you just imagine those tan lines? I really wish I remember where I got this romper from, but I can’t for the life of me. So I found a similar one that you can check out here! The bandeau is from the same boutique, and you can find a similar one here!

While the footwear might seem a bit unusual, I thought that the Birkenstocks added a perfect laid back vibe to the outfit! And my toes matched with my bandeau 🙂 If interested, you can find the Birkenstocks here.

For my makeup I wore my beloved liquid liner with a simple and fresh face. The necklace is from a vendor booth at The Grove, however you can find similar ones on Etsy.

Lastly, some details. I painted my nails to match the outfit (obviously). Stay tuned for a post coming up about the nails, focusing on how I did them and what colors I used!

A Little Bit Of Back

photo 2 (7)

Hello my lovely readers! Let me begin by saying that I know it has been much too long, and for that I’m very sorry. School, college acceptances and the final rush of senior year has just been so much! I’m loving every second though 🙂

I started missing my blog and decided to make a solid effort to re-establish myself on here. I love taking pictures, writing, and posting for you guys! I also want this blog to be up and running because I have some big life events coming up in the next three months (graduation, goodbyes, and moving to Paris!). I definitely want you all to be a part of it.

That being said though, let’s get right back into posts, starting with this fashion one!

photo 2 (8)

Spring has arrived, and I’ve been obsessed with any skirt/shirt combination. There are countless ways to do this! Here I’ve chosen a look that’s a little bit more edgy, wearing dark Doc Martens. However, this look can also be made incredibly flirty; trying pairing a floral skirt with a lace top and some cute patent flats!

Shirt: Brandy Melville — Bandeau: Brandy Melville — Skirt: H&M

Socks: No Brand — Shoes: Doc Martens

That concludes this “welcome back” post! Thank you so much to anybody that has stuck with me, I can wait to start talking with you again!

Any plans for Easter this Sunday? I’m planning on indulging in lots of chocolate 🙂

The Pink Romper

photo 3 (4)

Hello my lovely readers! Today is an outfit post, featuring my absolute favorite LF romper. I have been really enjoying this warm California weather. While I do miss the rain, there’s no denying that there are many more options with warmth (or maybe I just own absolutely no warm clothes, might be a problem in France next year). How has the weather been where yo live? This outfit is one that I adore, and in my over air-conditioned classrooms the Gap cardigan keeps me from freezing to death. And, you will quickly realize that my Doc Martens are one of the favorite things in my closet 🙂

For the photos, I  thank my very close friend and incredibly talented photographer Erin. Click through the link to check out her Instagram! We headed up to a park in West Hills, an area in Los Angeles. One thing that I’ve been loving about this blog is that it kinda forces me to get out. Yay for new adventures! Anyways, enjoy 🙂

Details: I wore my simple natural day look, and my hair tied back in it’s signature braids.

Three words: Simple, simple, simple! I simply don’t have the time to put hours into my makeup and hair while getting ready for school (what can I say, I just love sleep).

Thank you so much for reading! And I especially wanted to say thank you for the incredible feedback I got on my last post, it really means the world!
